Each trip is planned around the weather and the best known areas. The team walks the desert and drives slowly. The eyes scan the ground all day.
When we find a candidate stone, we take a photo on the spot, save the GPS, and put it in its own bag. Then we drive back to our workshop in Erfoud to clean, weigh and number every find.
The best pieces can later be sent to a lab for a deeper test. The lab can give a number that becomes part of the international meteorite record.
